Our Specialty Is Supplying: Bookmark us Now! C ome back OFTEN!We are producing at least 1 new book per week. Our newest offerings are in this box. Here are a series of Love Letters. Tied with a bold, black ribbon they were all in a bulky, single packet and, we hope, in proper sequence as this is the same order in which we have arranged them. The packet was found inside a still clasped old camelback trunk bought at an estate sale near London. The auctioneer declared the old trunk had been found in a dark attic. Some murmured this was said just to raise a priceless anticipation of Gold or some other coin, but why then would he add the almost puzzled stipulation that the trunk was found in the servant's quarters? The new owner promptly snapped the clasp off when the old camelback trunk was in its new home. As the lid was lifted, the odour of old books hissed from the interior. Naught else but the packet of letters was inside. Bookworms had eaten the glue from all of the envelopes. There were no names, no dates, no addresses on any of the envelopes. Consequently, Tale Wins has published them in the same spirit. Editors make no claim for antiquity and cannot connect the parties with any known figures from the past. It is our hope that we have at least kept the matter of spelling and designations as they were found in the original. Any mistakes you find were probably the author's. *** A love story set in the jungles of South America.** , by Jack London This is a collection of his best short stories. * By Rudyard Kipling. Rudyard is so well known for his juvenile titles that romantic love story masterpieces like this one are virtually forgotten in the shrouds of time.* Sliced from a bygone age when love was LOE, golf is the driving force of this beautiful novel. I'm sure that if I understood the game I would love this book all the more, but even in my complete ignorance I was fascinated with the entire book.** Marie Claire: is another one of the free "page-turning" books. Back in its day of publication this was all the rage in England and France for six long years. Here is a teaser.. My father often took us to a place where there were men who drank wine. Where do thoughts go at the end of day? Do they dance through the meadows and climb to the stars on the evening myst? *** Betty Zane, by Zane Grey. **. "Me Tarzan, You Jane."You probably remember those romantic words from the movies, but have you ever wondered what the romance between Tarzan and Jane was like in the REAL book? Edgar Rice Burroughs is a terrific writer. Tarzan is probably his best creation ever. Where I grew up -- far from civilization -- we had a large supply of comic books. Captain Marvel, Superman, The Lone Ranger, Red Ryder, The Durango Kid --even Roy Rogers. But, our favorite comic of all was Tarzan. Any time a new issue came in we'd hike out into the desert to a place where no one would disturb us and we would take turns reading the pages. Tarzan of the Apes is yours to read for free on the web.*** by Max Brandby Edgar Rice Burroughs by Robert Louis Stevenson. |

He was a handyman coming to fix a dental student’s apartment sink when amour unexpectedly buds between them. Never had a love affair blossomed faster or been more fervent. Tempers flare, pride swells, and soon Graham and Sheree’s union is no more. Years later a family crisis plunges them back into each other’s lives. Seeing Graham again stirs up old, intense feelings within Sheree. But her hopes of reconciliation are dashed when she learns that he’s engaged to a very beautiful woman who has no intention of letting him go. Now what will Sheree do with this massive love void that only Graham can fill?*** "So . . . the Elvis Diaries. I had heard the rumors of their existence. The story had it that Elvis had kept a journal since he was in elementary school. As far as I knew, though, they were just that--rumors. Maybe this was a hoax like those Hitler diaries some crackpot tried to palm off on that German magazine some years back. But hoax or not, I have to admit I was intrigued. The truth is, I needed a good story and needed it real bad. Recently, I'd been suffering from what might be called a receding by-line. My last three story ideas hadn't panned out and the last one that actually got published--"The Eight Faces of Earl"--was a major disappointment. It was the story of Earl Buskin, a man who had eight distinct personalities, all of them, unfortunately, incredibly boring. So if the Elvis diaries really did exist and I could get my hands on 'em, I might just have the story of the century." and definitely good, written by a professional. It is PG-13 by Mary Shelley. A band of silver gulls gliding towards the warming rays of the western horizon suddenly captivated Pepper’s attention and she paused on the jutted pier to study them at length. The piercing cries slowly vanished with their flight as a moaning blast from a ship heading towards the harbor echoed endlessly, filling in the gap, the sound seeming to take an eternity to finally fade away. Quietly, she put away the futon and placed her mirror on the window's ledge. Izumi tiptoed to the kitchen, and knelt next to a small stove with one burner. It stood solemnly beside a tiny refrigerator that sat on the tatami floor. Unstacking some containers in the corner, she pulled out a bag of rice. Izumi measured portions of the white grain into a pan, carefully rinsing it in the kitchen sink. She quietly set the pan on the burner, and turned on the fire. She then went to the closet, and slid open the thin wooden door. Behind the clothes, Izumi pulled out a small table, about a foot tall. Placing it in the middle of the room, she arranged the bowls and tea things on it. |
Ingeld's DaughterHistorical, fantasy, both or neither? Ingeld's Daughter is set in an invented world. It illustrates a society on the cusp of change from medieval feudalism to a more socially mobile, more commerce-based Renaissance-style structure. The three societies in the book, the social and economic influences and the political conflicts are all based on British history from various times and places. The geography is based on British landscapes. The strands of the story I wanted to tell did not all occur together at a single time and place in British history, so rather than twist history to fit the story, I set the story in an invented world. Editor's note: I have read the
first chapter so far and the writing is excellent with great characterization
and wonderful setting. This is an author sure to win thousands
of followers.
