When I start a story I begin dumping a lot of notes into a folder or a box.  When my mind is ready to create the story I drag the box out and begin sorting.  Here is a simple text editor with the facility to maintain an entire tree of stored notes - ideal to keep track of lots of notes on different subjects so that you always come out ahead.

Screen Capture.exe
The ability to take a picture of what was on my monitor screen just before what's up there now is a terrific tool.  Screen Capture easily captures screenshots from your computer monitor. It can capture the last active screen, the whole screen -- or just the area  you select. Not only that, it also numbers each picture consecutively and creates jpeg images of them, ready for your use.

My Clients.exe
This is a program that helps you store your client into where you can get at it when you need it.  Although there is no real limit to the number of clients you can add, it is best for a small client database of up to 200,  . It has features like adding, editing and removing contacts. You are able to search though all contacts to look for items (i.e. search all contacts for the word branded - it then lists all clients that have that word), and it helps you do mass emails -- and more.

ClipBoard Keeper.exe
One of the handiest little tools I have ever used.  It lets me add text to a list I already have going. Clip Board Keeper allows you to right click on an item and click copy to clipboard. Another thing, this means you can enter in your name, or email address etc. etc. and it saves you from having to type it out again, and again, and again.

Keyword Scanner.exe
Here is a tool to search your pages and compile a list of all the words you have used in the story. This lets you know immediately if you have missed the target of your subject.  This also gives you a very good idea of the words you should be using in your meta tags. Naturally you can set the program to exclude common words like is, the, then, at, etc..

Multi Search File Finder.exe
Have you ever hunted frantically for a piece of writing that you remember just a phrase or just a word from.  I have! "That's all I need, JUST THAT PHRASE!:  This handy little tool lets you search the drives you select for the files you want. Rack up a list of items it might be in within the first search. Easily delete -- or ignore -- the ones you know it isn't in.  Open the most likely item to check what it is. Open the folder where the item is stored to see what else is there. Here you have it, Fast searching right at your fingertips.

My Net Worth.exe
The first time my net worth shot up over the $100,000.00 mark I celebrated for a whole month.  -- Then I had to do some scrapping to get it back up there! --  But anyway, most people realize that having more assets than liabilities is the road map to wealth.  This program will lay the facts on the line for you.  It will calculate how much more you owe than you have funds to pay, and it will reveal that magic moment when you have more then you owe. Best of all, it is uick and simple to use and you can save 'sessions' so you can see the progress you are making, compare exactly how things were the last time you ran the program and where you are now. Heartening, or heart-rending, knowing your net worth is essential to making it as a writer.
