Okay,
here we go with the ideas...
- Hero Travel tour,, My idea was to create tours to places I wanted to go. Then I would go along on the tour and write about the people taking the tours with me. With their own pictures and stories about them I was going to create a
personalized book for each of them to buy. Now this isn't as far out as it might seem. If you will, just for a moment imagine yourself a writer with the power, knowledge and insight of Dick Francis writing stories about the winning rider in the fifth race. Hoofs are pounding, clumps of mud slashes at your face but you see the opening ahead and lean forward, whispering
(through the reins) that THIS is the time to move. Ah yes -- the winner of that fifth race will love the story more than s/he would a
generic racing painting and would pay dearly for it.
- Take real estate that I bought for next to nothing
and sell it with vividly descriptive videos enhanced with your words of praise and explanation was my second idea.
Eventually this was the one I started to work on and I did right handsomely with it. When I got married my wife took one look at my numbers and joined the crowd. She did even better than I did.

- Screen printing. You don't need your own equipment.
Just contact a screen printer near you, or find an
even cheaper one on the
Internet. With this idea, your job is just to come up with the ideas and the market. For instance, I planned to do courthouse pictures with the name under them and the date, then sell these to stores
along the freeway.
After I got into the actual sales it turned out that little curios are just as
easy to produce and the profits are larger.
- Make envelopes that are special for each area... Arkansas
Fun envelopes, Lonoke White Water Rafting envelopes, etc. Also, witty sayings envelopes. One I made up this morning said:
This warm, personal letter has been cleverly disguised as a bill.
- Word processing, typesetting. It is incredible to me that there are still people and businesses that need this service, but there are.
- Writing Assistance... "With your help Tonto, I can get my story told in a way that is powerful, ringing with truth and energy." How do you find customers? If people even suspect you can help them they will dig you out of the woodwork. My first problem was actually
finding the nerve to charge people for doing this. Then my second problem was finding the courage to say NO
when their numbers became overwhelming.
- Cookie celebrations. Instead of flowers send bouquets of cookies that make the heart smile and mouth water. Special cards that you write will be included.
- Pick up and delivery service, laundry, shoes, whatever customer wants picked up and delivered somewhere. Use written cards to prosper. Incredibly enough I happened to meet a man that took this idea and ran with it. One year after he started he was earning $15,000.00 per week and running himself ragged because, like me, he found it so hard to say NO.
- printing broker, printers earn up to $40,000 a year, brokers earn up to $150,000 My USP is: With my writing abilities, I can help buyers to improve their works. This was another idea I personally tried out and it quickly outgrew me. When I finally quit I had people driving forty and sixty miles to get me to do something for them.
- Graphic Design -- Mobile billboards. Find a sponsor, put a bill board on back of a truck and haul it through traffic during rush hour. It isn't that imaginative, and it doesn't pay much, but it does get attention.
- Photo inventory, VHS inventory. I know people who do this and they make a good living at it.
- Event Planning How strange. There are actually people (with money) who can't plan an event.

- photography. Almost anything you write can be enhanced in someway by photography skills.
- cell phone Vacation Guide. If you know your Region well enough to guide people to its best attractions by cell phone you're in. People are doing this by iPods now, but back in 1997 it was a strange idea.

Promote a business, everywhere, ask for a share of the profits.
I have done this one numerous times and now -- with
social
Networking -- it is easier than ever. One
business contacted me and offered me 50% of the profits. It was
already producing a small stream of income to start with.
I came up with a new name and told some newbie
salesmen what to say.
- Custom Photo birth, wedding announcement cards
- Public Relations Agency, this requires special talents
-- that were already mine.
- Resume counseling. I knew I could do the work, but selling the service was beyond me.
If you too are shy, you will need to find a partner with sales ability.
- Sign making service; boy do business people ever need help
-- not with the painting -- with getting just a few words right! When
people see their business going under they get
desperate. Some of them get so desperate they
will even
listen to common sense. That's where
you come in. The field is white already to
harvest since 95% of the businesses alive right now
are in the process of dying. Only 5% can hang
on more than 2 years. Most of them fail in the first 6
months. How do you find these desperate
customers? All I did was stop in at the local
County Courthouse and ask for a list of recently
launched business. Some states publish lists
of new businesses for the entire state, and there
used to be newspapers that published those lists.
Ask your local library how they find lists like
this.
- Write articles for local businesses that will get them FREE exposure
in your area papers and stations.
My secret weapon is PLR that I get for free and
rewrite under THEIR NAME. Legal? You
bet. 100% legal.

You can be a Disability Specialist
, and use your writing skills to get applicants enrolled on disability. Surprisingly enough, the hardest part of this work is keeping the applicant from fainting by the wayside. Some of the people I met were such hopeless hannahs that they needed to be on disability just for psychiatric reasons.
- Start Your Own Information Web hub. If you can come up with a new idea,
a new name, or slant you could be in for a moneymaking ride.
- Seminar promoting.. do this for businesses -- in house.. bring the experts to them that they need. My idea was to call businesses and find out what they needed, then find the experts that could perform the deed for less than I had contracted for. Since I have a natural knack for getting in to see the decision makers I would probably have done quite well with this one too.
One company I'm working with now pays me $4,000.00 per sign up.
